Trailer

Inspired by old photographs from his grandfather, Remember Winter explores how winter in New Hampshire is changing, told from the perspective of local observations, and by following Gabriel Andrus’s attempt to cross-country ski the length of the state, we observe the changes firsthand.

Inspiration

Inspired by my own childhood memories from growing up in New Hampshire and conversations with my Grandpa, and his own observations of winter and how it has changed over the years.

Remember Winter is a project that comes from the heart. Growing up in rural southwestern New Hampshire, I spent nearly all of my time outside. Running around the woods and playing in the snow, in fact, that’s still what I do now! When I wasn’t building snow forts or riding our family’s old snowmobile, I could be found skiing at the local ski areas or racing for my school’s cross-country ski team. Through all these experiences and countless hours spent in the snow, I have developed a deep love and appreciation for the season of winter that I want to share with others.  Remember Winter is a story about connection, about how we interact with the season of winter. Its cultural and historical importance in New England.
